Kindergarten

​(Age 5 years old by September 1st )



Our Kindergarten program is uniquely designed

for your growing child. In our classroom setting,

your Kindergartener will learn skills to prepare

them to excel in elementary school.

 

 

The Kindergarten curriculum includes learning to:

 

• Count by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's to 100

• Perform addition problems with sums up to 20

• Perform subtraction problems with numbers 0 to 20

• Create and present book reports and specially-themed projects

• Speak beginner foreign language

• Refine Fine-motor skills

• Master phonetic awareness

• Recognize sight words

• Develop and enhance reading skills

• Identify numerals and be able to write the number words   1 to 100

• Conceptualize time, including days, weeks, months,

• the clock and seasons

• Explore monthly science and social study unit topics

• Participate in music and art studies

 

 

At the completion of the Kindergarten program at the   Oak Ridge Academy, your child will receive his/her

first diploma at our annual graduation ceremony,

held on the fourth Thursday in June.
